Does Woo-Woo actually work through Reiki Energy?

De-coding the hush hush around Science, Spirituality and Reiki Energy Healing.

This apprentice is a curious student of life and all the living creatures around her.

Now that we've been liaising with "Energy" in general, I think it's time to address the hidden iceberg. What is this spiritual energy feeling? Is there potential? Is science really against this? Let's get into it.

Remnants from Fall
Fall remnants reminding us of what's left behind.

Also, I'm not here to convince you of anything but rather to open your natural curiosity gates to dare to see and feel the unknown.

What is Reiki Energy?

A mandatory explanation before we get into my observations and experiences.

Reiki Energy Healing is an ancient Japanese Origin Healing technique. Reiki itself is a combination of Rei- roughly translated to 'Higher Wisdom/ Higher Intelligence/ Higher Power' and Ki- roughly translated to 'Prana/ Chi/ Life force energy'. Keeping this in mind, we can define Reiki as Prana energy guided by the Force.

Reiki Practitioners usually channel the Chi energy through their palms and are guided internally by a higher power.

What actually happens in a Reiki Session?

The most dreaded question of clients! Fear not, your padawan will be breaking it down for you right now. Questions only in the end please. Just kidding lol.

A Reiki Session consists of a Healer/ Reiki Master and a Receiver/ Client. We begin by talking, trying to understand what are the current struggles and what we are going to be working on together. It could range from a Frozen shoulder to Depression and Anxiety to getting in touch with your Spirit guides. The theme remains the same. To help with aligning and improving the Mind, Body and Spirit.

After the initial discussion, the client is asked to sit or lay down in a chair or on the massage table depending on their comfort level. Then the Practitioner begins by channeling the Life force energy through their palms and gently guiding their hands over the client's body which includes light touches. The life-force energy works through the body and helps you ground.

Where is Science on this?

Well, there have been quite a few mixed reactions from the science side. While some hospitals embraced Reiki Healers to work in cancer wards, others laugh it off as something ludicrous. There have been several reports stating that patients experienced significant calmness, and overall improvement of their health with regular Reiki sessions. Some ancient healers were able to cure diseases but at a much slower rate than modern medicine.

I think, given my research and experience with Reiki so far, I can no longer deny of its existence. It has opened another world for me and it would be foolish of me to conclude it as Woo-woo. And even if it is, who says it is not real? Not everything can be solved by energy healing, but there is a certain serenity in experiencing it, and a spiritual pull to gain more clarity.

I guess one has to dip their toe themselves to explain the experience. Have you tried a Reiki healing session yet?

A curious student of life,

Sachita
